Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. GREWAL announced the arrest of ALFREDO VINCENTE, date of birth 07/31/1955, of 1456 River Road, Apt 2A, Edgewater, New Jersey, relating to charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child specifically for the possession of images and/or videos depicting child exploitation as well as sharing those images and/or videos. VINCENTE was arrested on Thursday, July 21, 2016, without incident. The arrest came as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computers Crimes Unit under the direction of Officer in Charge, Deputy Chief of Detectives Robert ANZILOTTI.
On the morning of Thursday, June 16, 2016, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at 1456 River Road, Apt 2A, Edgewater, New Jersey, the home of VINCENTE. As a result, items were seized that contained images and videos depicting child exploitation. The continued investigation revealed that VINCENTE was using the internet to distribute and acquire images and videos of child pornography utilizing a file sharing program.
Alfredo VINCENTE was charged with one (1) count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for being in possession of videos and images depicting Child Exploitation, as well as one (1) count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for the Distribution of Child Exploitation. Bail was set by the Honorable Judge Frances McGrogan, J.S.C., at fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) with no ten percent option and no internet access as a condition of bail. Alfredo VINCENTE was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
Acting Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would like to thank the Edgewater Police Department for their assistance. Additionally, Prosecutor Grewal would like to thank the Oradell Police Department Police Department who provided assistance with this investigation by way of manpower assigned to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Task Force.
