A Pleasantville man arrested June 2, 2017 by Atlantic City Task Force in Pleasantville. Terrance Harris, 37, is suspected of being a heroin dealer in the area. A small amount of heroin was found in his car after he was stopped and drug-sniffing dogs found reason to search the vehicle.

Officials later searched his home and in the shed they found two guns, a stolen 9mm semi-automatic pistol and a .223 rifle, over a kilo of heroin, over a kilo of cocaine, scaled and nearly $7,500 in cash. The amount of heroin found is worth about $100,000 on the street, while the cocaine would about about $40,000.

Terrance Harris is charged with a count of first-degree possession of heroin with intent to sell, a count of first-degree possession of cocaine with intent to sell, two counts of possession of a weapon used in relation to the narcotics distribution in the second-degree, a second-degree charge of possession of a weapon as a convicted felon, as well as third-degree charges of possession of cocaine and heroin.

The charges in the first-degree could hold a 10 to 20 year prison sentence, coupled with a $500,000 fine. The charges in the second-degree come with a 5 to 10 year sentence with a $150,000 fine. There is a mandatory minimum of 5 years with no eligibility for parole for the second-degree charges of possessing a weapon as a convicted felon. The third-degree charges could bring a 3 to 5 year sentence with a $15,000 fine.

The Director of Criminal Justice Elie Honig stated, “The vast majority of crime and gun violence in the Atlantic City Area is linked to the drug trade and to offenders like Harris, who we allege profited from that trade at the expense of law-abiding residents.”

All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
