Three Defendants Charged with Animal Cruelty

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office brought animal cruelty charges three individuals, Jesus Gabriel Valentin Rivera, 36, Vanessa Millan, 31, and Elaine Ramos, 27. The three defendants are from Florida. As a result of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Chief Robert Anzilotti, law enforcement were able to apprehend these defendants.

On or about August 19, 2017, the Animal Cruelty Task Force obtained information about a vehicle in a store parking lot in the City of Garfield. Law enforcement advanced upon the van and found numerous animals in cruel conditions. These conditions include feces-littered cages and no access to water on a scorching hot day.

Defendants were charged with twenty-six (26) counts of Animal Cruelty charges and are set to appear in court on October 3, 2017. Their court appearance with be in front of the Honorable Louis J. Dinice at the Central Municipal Court in Hackensack.

All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
