US District Federal Judge Freda L. Wolfson sentenced Keith “Meech” Hunter, 24, of Trenton, to six years in prison on July 7, 2017. Hunter had plead guilty to the charges of conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute over 100 grams of heroin this past March as well possession of a firearm.

Hunter was arrested in December 2016 along with nine others, all claiming to be a part of the gang “Abdullah DTO”. The gang allegedly dealt heroin in the Trenton area between June 2015 and December 2016.

The drug trafficking organization, led by Ishmael Abdullah, controlled heroin distribution mainly around Spring and Passaic streets. The members had burner phones and “stash” homes and vehicles, they even had a code to help evade police. In addition, they all had access to a shared supply of firearms.

Five of the ten gang members arrested have already plead guilty and await sentencing.

Upon his release, Hunter will be on supervised release for an additional four years.
