Jose Classen of Paterson, Arrested Twice while out on bail for possession of nearly 2,700 packets of heroin and, later with 18 Bricks of of Heroin Takes Plea Deal.

Jose Classen, 21, of Paterson, New Jersey caught with 18 Bricks of heroin while out on Bail on a separate Distribution of CDS charge, gets 5 years Drug Court Probation.

The first arrest took place on February 16, 2016 in Paterson, NJ. A search was conducted when narcotics detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop on Classen’s Mercedes- Benz. There reason was they smell marijuana, which Classen admitted to be smoking, he promptly handed them over a small bag of marijuana. Following this, officials began to search the rest of the car and found 18 bricks of heroin, 900 envelopes, four grams of cocaine and approximately $800 in cash. The amount of drugs found carry a street value of around five thousand dollars.

The second incident came several months later on September 13, 2016. Police conducted a drug rain on an apartment building of Pennington Street. Jose Classen was arrested again, this time with his girlfriend and a customer who had just bought 40 packets. Police reports show this time they seized nearly 2,700 packets of heroin, over $7,000 in cash and 2 bags of crack-cocaine.

Classen was represented by criminal defense lawyer Ron Bar-Nadav of Hackensack, NJ. After extensive plea negotiations, and an appeal, Mr. Claussen was accepted into the Passaic County Drug Court program. The program has very strict guidelines including refraining from any drug use, mist remain arrest free, weekly urine screening, random at work and at home visits by various probation offices, and strict monitoring. The charges could be expunged after five years, providing he successfully completes the Drug Court program.
