Marlon M. Quiros, 33 years old, dies During a High Speed Police Chase Lead that to Fatal Motorcycle Crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkay.

A motorcyclist died this week as the result of an early moring crash involing a high spped chase with a police officer from the Palisades Interstte Park Police Department. Investigators from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit, along with the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police investigated the cause.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at approximately 12:02 a.m., while conducting stationary radar on the southbound side of the Palisades Interstate Parkway in the area of Closter Dock Road, a Palisades Interstate Parkway police officer observed two motorcycles speed past his position.

The Police Officer followed the motorcycleist in an effort to perform a motor vehicle stop. However, both motorcycles continued to spped away at a high rate of speed. The officer pursued one motorcycle which was in view. The other motorcycle fled at a high rate of speed and was no longer in view of the officer’s vehicle. A high-speed pursuit continued for approximately 4 miles.

When the Police Officer caught up to the area, just off the Fletcher Avenue exit, he saw a large debris field. The motorcycle being pursued by police continued through the debris field and left the scene. The policer officer stopped and found the first motorcyclist deceased on the side of the road.

The deceased was identified as Marlon M. Quiros, 33 years old, of 1912 3rd Ave, Apt 3A, New York, NY. Mr. Quiros was operating a 2010 Yamaha motorcycle. The second motorcyclist has not yet been located or identified.
