Law enforcement officials have finally arrested the man allegedly responsible for the murder of 27-year-old Terrel Smith on March 29, 2017. Shaquan Hyppolite, 18, of Jersey City was arrested on Tuesday, June 20 of last week.

The defendant has been charged with three counts: a first-degree murder charge, a second-degree violation of possessing a firearm for unlawful purpose, and a second-degree charge for unlawful possession of a firearm.

On the evening of the murder, Smith was found lying unconscious in an alley behind a Van Horne Street in Jersey City, a few blocks down from the local primary school.
