Englewood man charged with Sexual Assaulting Elderly Woman

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office declared the arrest of Margarita Hernandez-Valladares, a 23-year-old Englewood resident, on charges of Attempted Sexual Assault, Criminal Restraint, and Criminal Sexual Contact. Law enforcement were able to apprehend HERNANDEZ-VALLADARES due to a joint effort made by Chief Robert Anzilotti (Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office) and Chief Lawrence Suffern (Englewood Police Department).

The Englewood Police Department became aware of HERNANDEZ-VALLADARES as a result of a report of an unidentified male attempting to sexually assault an elderly female as she was walking in Englewood. Law enforcement arrested HERNANDEZ-VALLADARES on November 9, 2017 in Englewood and charged him with Second-Degree Attempted Sexual Assault, Third-Degree Criminal Restraint, and Fourth-Degree Criminal Sexual Contact. He appeared on November 10, 2017 at the Bergen County Court for an arraignment.

All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
