Marquis W. Pierce of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Charged for Assault and Attempted Homicide

On June 27th, 2025, the arrest of Marquis W. Pierce, age 35, was announced by Warren County Acting Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone. Marquis W. Pierce was charged with first-degree Attempted Homicide, second-degree Aggravated Assault, two counts of third-degree Aggravated Assault, third-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and being a Fugitive from Justice. The arrest and charges against Marquis W. Pierce were a result of an investigation handled by the Phillipsburg Police Department, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, and Warren County Regional Crime Scene Team

According to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, reports of a stabbing were made in the area of 7 Brainard Street in Phillipsburg, New Jersey at approximately 5:45 a.m. on June 21st, 2025. Emergency personnel arrived at the residence as the altercation was ongoing, the suspect being taken into custody by officers. Medical attention was given on the scene to the two victims, one with life threatening injuries, before transporting both of them to a local hospital. A third victim was also identified before being taken to a local hospital for medical care. It was revealed that all parties in the altercation had known each other prior to the incident, and that Marquis W. Pierce had an active warrant out for his arrest in Easton, Pennsylvania.


The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Marquis W. Pierce are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
