On July 22nd, 2025, the arrest of Timiko Young, age 45, was announced by Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. Timiko Young was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident Without Reporting, first-degree Reckless Endangerment, and second-degree Reckless Endangerment. The arrest and charges against Timiko Young were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Detective Keith Solomon of the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad.
According to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, at 5:24 p.m. on October 28th, 2023, Timiko Young was filling her Lincoln sedan with gas at the Citgo Station on Jerome Avenue. After reentering her vehicle, Jose Galan, age 60, was walking in front of her vehicle before suddenly falling. Timiko Young allegedly had run over Jose Galan and dragged his body to the exit of the gas station before stepping out and checking under her car, then going back into her vehicle and driving away on Edward L. Grant Highway for approximately 950ft. Timiko Young had then moved into the bicycle lane where responders from the New York City Fire Department and EMS took Jose Galan’s body out from under the car. When questioned, Timiko Young claimed that the car was just recently purchased and that it wasn’t insured or registered.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Timiko Young are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
