Marquis W. Pierce of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Charged for Attempted Homicide and Aggravated Assault

On June 27th, 2025, the arrest of Marquis W. Pierce, age 35, was announced by Acting Warren County Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone. Marquis W. Pierce was charged with first-degree Attempted Homicide, second-degree Aggravated Assault, two counts of third-degree Aggravated Assault, third-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and being a Fugitive from Justice. The arrest and charges against Marquis W. Pierce were a result of an investigation handled by the Phillipsburg Police Department, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, and Warren County Regional Crime Scene Team

According to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, reports of a stabbing in the area of 7 Brainard Street, Phillipsburg, New Jersey were responded to by officers from the Phillipsburg Police Department at approximately 5:45 a.m. on June 21st, 2025. Responding officers arrived as the altercation was ongoing and the suspect was successfully apprehended and removed from the scene. Two victims were located with stab wounds, one victim enduring life threatening injuries. Both victims were transported to a local hospital while receiving immediate medical aid. A third victim was identified afterwards once found and received immediate medical care while being taken to a local hospital for further treatment. Detectives noted that all victims and the suspect knew each other before the incident. It was also uncovered that Marquis W. Pierce had an active warrant out for his arrest in Easton, Pennsylvania from a prior incident that took place. 


The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Marquis W. Pierce are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
