Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Charged for Gunpoint Robbery on Former Landlord

On October 31st, 2025, the arrest of Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez, age 39, was announced by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg Jr.. Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez was charged with first and second-degree Burglary, second-degree Robbery, second-degree Assault, and third-degree Grand Larceny. The arrest and charges against Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez were a result of an investigation handled by investigators from the New York Police Department

According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, court documentation and statements show Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez was formerly one of the victim’s tenants in an apartment building on West 187th Street. The victim and building’s landlord, Jose Antonio Tur, was owed over $30,000 in late rent payments from the defendant. In August 2025 Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez had moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after Jose Antonio Tur offered him $8,000 to leave the apartment. A month later in September 2025 the defendant had gotten into contact with Jose Antonio Tur’s grandson claiming the victim owed him more money. At approximately 10:11 a.m. on September 25th, 2025, Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez had allegedly driven to the 187th West Street apartment building and called the victim, claiming he had a package for another apartment. Upon arrival Jose Antonio Tur led the defendant to the basement gate, however after opening said gate Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez allegedly slammed the gate cutting the victim’s left hand and breaking one of his fingers. Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez then allegedly pressed a firearm against Jose Antonio Tur as they went down to the basement office, then stealing $20,000 from the victim’s desk and fleeing on foot before driving back to Pennsylvania. Following the incident Jose Antonio Tur ended up suffering from a stroke which led to his passing. Investigators from the New York Police Department were able to locate and arrest Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez on September 27th, 2025, in Pennsylvania before the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office extradited him to New York City, New York


The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Domingo Vasquez Rodriguez are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
