On July 9th, 2026, the arrest of Kalief Armstrong, age 38, was announced by Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay. Kelief Armstrong was charged with first-degree Attempted Murder, second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, second-degree Being a Certain Persons not to Possess Weapons, third-degree Aggravated Assault, third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. The arrest and charges against Kalief Armstrong were a result of an investigation handled by the Pennsauken Police Department.
According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, at approximately 11:47 p.m. on July 2nd, 2026, a gunshot victim was discovered by the Pennsauken Police Department after he was transported to Cooper University Hospital in a private vehicle. The 27-year-old male arrived at the hospital in critical yet stable condition. An investigation ensued that uncovered the victim was wounded from a shooting at 11:16 p.m. on the 8900 block of Haddonfield Road in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Kalief Armstrong was identified by detectives to be the individual responsible for shooting the victim. In addition to this the defendant had also allegedly assaulted the victim with a baseball bat just prior to when the shooting happened.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Kalief Armstrong are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
