Four New Jersey Men Indicted for an Online Chat Operation Used to Lure Underage Girls

On July 14th, 2026, the arrests of Richard Williamson (69), Daniel Henderson Jr. (38), Gilbert Wylen (69) and Theodore Haviland (52), were announced by Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay. Richard Williamson and Daniel Henderson Jr. were charged with second-degree Attempting to Lure a Child, second-degree Attempted Sexual Assault of a Minor, second-degree Attempted Prostitution with a Minor, third-degree Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Engaging in Prostitution as a disorderly person’s offense. Gilbert Wylen was charged with second-degree Attempting to Lure a Child, two counts of second-degree Attempted Sexual Assault of a Minor, second-degree Attempted Prostitution with a Minor, third-degree Attempted Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor, third-degre Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Engaging in Prostitution as a disorderly person’s offense. Theodore Haviland was charged with second-degree Attempting to Lure a Child, second-degree Attempted Sexual Assault of a Minor, and third-degree Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest and charges against all four defendants were a result of an investigation handled by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Brooklawn Borough Police Department

According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, investigations into the defendants were being conducted from March 2026 through June 2026. It was revealed that all four men were communicating via online chats to someone they believed to be an underaged girl. The individual conversing with the defendants was actually an undercover agent from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit. Specific conversations were held with each defendant individually wherein each of them set up a meeting location in Brooklawn, New Jersey, in attempts to engage in sexual acts with the supposed minor. Richard Williamson, Daniel Henderson Jr., and Gilbert Wylen had offered various amounts of money, ranging from $80 to $200, in exchange for sexual favors. Members from the Brooklawn Borough Police Department and Camden County Prosecutor’s Office apprehended each of the defendants as they arrived at the predetermined meeting locations before placing them into the Camden County Correctional Facility.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Richard Williamson, Daniel Henderson Jr., Gilbert Wylen, and Theodore Haviland are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
