On March 5th, 2026, the arrest of Antonio Quinones, age 36, was announced by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. Antonio Quinones was charged with two counts of first-degree Assault, second-degree Assault, second-degree Attempted Assault, fourth-degree Criminal Mischief, and fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The arrest and charges against Antonio Quinones were a result of an investigation handled by the NYPD.
According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 4:20 p.m. on March 2nd, 2026, Antonio Quinones got into an argument with another patron while inside of the Broadway Deli & Grill in Astoria, New York. After the verbal altercation the defendant exited the deli and kicked a scooter parked outside a nearby fish market belonging to the other patron. Another argument ensued between Antonio Quinones and the patron until the defendant allegedly pulled out a concealed blade and began swinging it at the victim. The victim was cut across his body once and his arm once, the sharp instrument having pierced through his jacket. As the first victim backed away Antonio Quinones charged at a second nearby bystander, a 29-year-old woman, and allegedly slashed her across the face with his blade. The defendant fled from the scene shortly after before being captured and apprehended by nearby NYPD officers.
The Queens District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Antonio Quinones are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
