Arrest Warrant out for Second Suspect in Jersey City Murder

On November 14th, 2017, the Jersey City Police Department were notified of a man stabbed at 197 Palisade Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were treating the stabbed victim when police officers arrived shortly thereafter.

The victim was known as Jose Malave, a thirty (30) year old Jersey City resident. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police officers conducted an investigation into Mr. Malave’s murder and arrested a seventeen (17) year old male and charged him with Murder, Felony Murder, Armed Burglary, several weapons charges and Conspiracy to Commit these crimes.

Based upon investigation, police officers believe that Nasiar Day, 19, is the second suspect in connection with Mr. Malave’s murder. An arrest warrant has been issued for Nasiar Day relating to this murder. He is being charged by the Prosecutor’s Office with First-Degree Murder, First-Degree Felony Murder, Second-Degree Armed Burglary, Third-Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Fourth-Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
