BXDA Data Analysts Evaluated Statistics from Arrest to Disposition; Details Currently on BXDA Website with Frequent Updates in the Pipeline.

Bronx DA, Darcel D. Clark, has announced today the launch of data dashboards on the official website of the Office. The data dashboard is expected to provide current and historical information on trends in prosecutions. It will also enable users to focus on specific demographics, violent crimes, charges, and other data.

According to District Attorney Clark, providing timely and accurate data will help in informing the Bronx community and policymakers about the team’s effectiveness and performance. He expresses his belief in transparency and confirms that the interactive data dashboard is one step towards keeping the public informed about how they are keeping the community safe while pursuing justice with utmost integrity and enhancing the team’s role as prosecutors. According to him, the latest high-tech resource will complement their human-touch tactic to better community outreach.

The launched interactive data dashboard comes with data “stories” from back in 2018 to 2023. This will offer additional details on trends in prosecutions and specific outcomes from criminal cases prosecuted. The dashboard will provide information to viewers on the flow of criminal cases through the court system, starting from the arrests by the NYPD and ending with the case disposition and conviction. The data is gathered from NYPD arrest filings, the Bronx District Attorney’s case management system, and Office of Court Administration case records.

Community members can access the dashboard and data reports through the Bronx District Attorney’s Office’s official website at www.bronxda.nyc.gov. Users can click on the Data Facts and Insights tab from the homepage to access the information they need.

District Attorney Clark applauded the Strategic Planning and Analytics Unit for their commitment to developing and implementing the Data Facts and Insights initiative. The team that worked on the project included Unit Chief, Cindy Redcross; Data Visualization Analyst, Katherine Barton; Senior Planning Analysts Amanda Russell, Sean Houlihan, and Mia Krause. The project was performed under the leadership of the Chief of the Strategic Innovations Division, Kerry Chicon, and the Deputy Chief of the Strategic Innovation Division, Nicole Ortsman-Dauer.
