Cranford, NJ resident Andrew C Johnson was charged for his involvement in a highway shooting. The investigation into the case was led by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and the Linden Police Department. On September 27, 2020, members of the Linden Police Department responded to a report of shots being fired on Route 1&9 near Avenue C.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two victims inside a vehicle stopped on the highway. The victims were both transported to University Hospital for emergency medical treatment. A defaced .40-caliber handgun was recovered from the vehicle. Johnson was later located in his home and was taken into custody.

Johnson was charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder and four related weapons offenses. Johnson was transported to the Union County Jail pending his first appearance and detention hearing in Union County Superior Court. The charges are accusations, and the defendant will remain innocent until proven guilty.
