Dayvon Morrison of Long Island, New York, Charged with Murder and Child Endangerment for Violence Against His 2-Year-Old Son

On March 19th, 2026, the arrest of Dayvon Morrison, age 30, was announced by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. Dayvon Morrison was charged with two counts of second-degree Murder, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest and charges against Dayvon Morrison were a result of an investigation handled by [Officers/Detectives]. 

According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, during January 30th and 31st, 2026, Dayvon Morrison was responsible for taking care of his son and daughter. During these days several injuries were inflicted onto him. At approximately 1:30 a.m. on February 2nd, 2026, Dayvon Morrison was in Manhattan, New York, where he was dropping off his daughter. The defendant’s son was trapped in the undercarriage of his stroller for approximately two hours before he was moved back into the seat of the stroller. Witnesses that took note of the child’s injuries and condition called local authorities. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was placed on a ventilator while receiving treatment for a blown right pupil, fractured pelvis, liver laceration, brain stem damage, internal bleeding in his brain, and swelling of his brain, amongst other unspecified injuries. Despite intensive care the child passed away two days after first entering the hospital. 


The Queens District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Dayvon Morrison are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
