On September 5th, 2025, the arrest of Donte Anderson, age 19, was announced by Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw. Donte Anderson was charged with second-degree Aggravated Assault, fourth-degree Aggravated Assault, second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, fourth-degree Possessing a Defaced Firearm, and fourth-degree Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine. The arrest and charges against Donte Anderson were a result of an investigation handled by the Burlington Police Department, Burlington Township Police Department, BCPO Major Crimes Unit Detective Joseph R. Clark, BCPO Crime Scene Unit Detective Kevin Smith, City of Burlington Detective William Lancenese, and City of Burlington Detective Cameron Lung.
According to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, reports of a shooting were made in the area of York Street and Clarkson Street. Responding officers didn’t report any injuries related to the shooting, and the handgun used was recovered later at a residence in Lumberton, New Jersey. Allegedly Donte Anderson was present in Burlington, New Jersey, and fired 10 rounds towards a sedan due to a dispute the defendant got into with the occupants of the vehicle.
The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Donte Anderson are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
