Story by Ethan

On May 13th, 2025, the arrest of Feliz Enrique, age 31, was announced by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. Feliz Enrique was charged with first, second, and third-degree Assault, second-degree Harassment, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest and charges against Feliz Enrique were a result of an investigation handled by the NYPD and Queens District Attorney’s Office

According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, between 4:10 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on May 10th, 2025, Feliz Enrique approached the 9-year-old victim  to ask her name, however once she responded the defendant allegedly used his hand to hit her in the face. The impact of the strike caused the victim to fall to the ground before the altercation was seen by Sergeant Sebastian Hajder. The sergeant was off-duty nearby when the defendant allegedly struck the victim before he attempted to apprehend Feliz Enrique with the help of two other bystanders. The defendant attempted to avoid apprehension through allegedly assaulting the sergeant during the struggle, allegedly biting him in the knee, hand, and even biting off part of his index finger. Both the young girl and Sergeant Sebastian Hajder were taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. The girl was suffering from bruising on her arm and back, bleeding from a cut on her lip and arm, loose teeth, and abrasions from the fall. Sergeant Sebastian Hajder was afflicted with bite marks and abrasions on his hands and legs, however doctors were unable to reattach the tip of his index finger due to the severity of the damage from the bite.

The Queens District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Feliz Enrique are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
