On March 19th, 2026, the arrest of Frank Labidi, age 24, was announced by Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly. Frank Labidi was charged with second-degree Manslaughter, and two counts of second-degree Assault. The arrest and charges against Frank Labidi were a result of an investigation handled by Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Squad.
According to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on January 23rd, 2026, Frank Labidi was driving westbound on West Old Country road in Hicksville, New York, in his 2018 BMW M5. The defendant was traveling at a high rate of speed while accompanied by two 19-year-old passengers, Lindsey Parke and Alexa Duryea. While driving the defendant lost control of his vehicle which led to it crossing into traffic on the eastbound lane before ultimately crashing into a tree and a nearby commercial building. The passenger’s side of the vehicle struck the tree and the force of the impact instantly killed both Lindsey Parke and Alexa Duryea. The force of the impact flung the vehicle’s muffler through the window of a nearby orthopedic practice office. Frank Labidi suffered minor injuries that were treated after he was transported to Nassau University Medical Center. It was revealed that Frank Labidi was allegedly driving at 82 miles per hour on full acceleration according to the vehicle’s crash data recorder. It was also determined that no breaking was attempted for three seconds before the crash. The speed limit on West Old Country Road is only 40 miles per hour, which puts the defendant at traveling approximately 22 miles per hour over the speed limit prior to losing control of his vehicle. The vehicle’s crash data recorder showed that Frank Labidi had allegedly also manually disabled the stability control system, which is put in place as a safety measure to correct skids which protects passengers from any accidental slides or drifts. Frank Labidi was identified to be an amateur racer that was previously involved in another race related crash in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. It’s alleged that the defendant disabled his vehicle’s stability control system under the pretenses of more easily engaging in “drifting” which is a racing technique. Further investigation uncovered that during 2024 and 2025 Frank Labidi had spent $35,000 in modifications and enhancements to his vehicle’s engine and transmission. These upgrades were to allow the vehicle to accelerate faster, handle further levels of power and force, and reach higher horsepower capacities. Frank Labidi was located and arrested by the Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Squad on January 30th, 2026.
The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Frank Labidi are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
