On June 13th, 2025, the arrest of Jose Pinzon Lopez, age 32, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Jose Pinzon Lopez was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and fourth-degree abuse and neglect. The arrest and charges against Jose Pinzon Lopez were a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Chief Stephen Regula of the Woodcliff Lake Police Department.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on Thursday June 12th, 2025, their Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Division of Child Protection and Permanancy about an alleged incident of child abuse in Woodcliff Lakes, New Jersey. It is alleged that on June 11th, 2025, Jose Pinzon Lopez had physically assaulted a minor in the area. Jose Pinzon Lopez was located and arrested in Woodcliff Lakes, New Jersey later that day.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Jose Pinzon Lopez are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
