On June 6th, 2025, the arrest of Emerson D. Perez Garcia, age 23, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Emerson D. Perez Garcia was charged with second-degree sexual assault, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest and charges against Emerson D. Perez Garcia were a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Officer-in-Charge Captain George Beck of the Palisades Police Department.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on June 2nd, 2025, their Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Palisades Park Police Department about an alleged sexual assault incident on a minor in Palisades Park, New Jersey. It is alleged that in May 2025, Emerson D. Perez Garcia had sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile in the area. Emerson D. Perez Gacia was located and arrested on June 5th, 2025, before surrendering at the Palisades Police Department on June 6th, 2025.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Emerson D. Perez Garcia are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
