On July 2nd, 2025, the arrest of Casmine Aska, age 29, was announced by Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. Casmine Aska was charged with Predatory Sexual Assault Against A Child, first-degree Rape, first-degree Sexual Abuse, fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest and charges against Casmine Aska were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Detective Ernesto Castillo of the Bronx Special Victims Unit.
According to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 8:20 p.m. on February 27th, 2025 in a Co-Op City building, both Casmine Aska and a 15-year-old female were using the elevator where the defendant attacked the victim. It was caught on surveillance footage that Casmine Aska punched the victim as the elevator was still operating. Following the punch, Casmine Aska allegedly then threatened the victim and showed her a concealed knife he was carrying. Allegedly the defendant used the knife to force the victim into the building’s stairwell in order to rape her. Following the incident the victim was taken to NYC Health +Hospitals/Jacobi and was released after treatment.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Casmine Aska are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
