On August 7th, 2025, the arrest of Christopher Gonzalez, age 37, was announced by Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. Christopher Gonzalez was charged with Attempted Murder in the second-degree, Attempted Assault in the first-degree, Attempted Manslaughter in the first-degree, first-degree Reckless Endangerment, three counts of second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm. The arrest and charges against Christopher Gonzalez were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Detectives Mark Ricketts and Pedro Silverio from the 48th Precinct Detective Squad.
According to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, video surveillance captured Chrisopher Gonzalez at approximately 4:30 a.m.. on April 7th, 2025, showed him arriving at 726 East 181st Street before firing a 9-mm pistol at the residence. Four bullets fired ended up penetrating through the interior walls. Unrelated video surveillance showed on June 7th, 2025, at approximately 8 p.m., Chrisopher Gonzalez got into a confrontation with an unidentified male. As the victim attempted to walk away after the argument, allegedly Chistopher Gonzalez had fired shots in the man’s direction before he turned around and also fired shots at the defendant. Video footage depicts families out with their children having to run and take cover from the altercation. During the investigation 17 shell casings were recovered from the scene by NYPD Detectives. Christopher Gonzalez was arrested the next day for being in possession of a loaded pistol, which when examined was confirmed to be the same pistol used during the April 7th and June 8th shootings.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Christopher Gonzalez are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
