On July 28th, 2025, the arrest of Daniel Ribustello, age 34, was announced by Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. Daniel Ribustello was charged with third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, first-degree Unlawful Imprisonment, second-degree Unlawful Imprisonment, second-degree Menacing, and third-degree Menacing. The arrest and charges against Daniel Ribustello were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Detective John Toto of the Force Investigation Division, and Sgt. Louis Meade and Detective David Golson of the Bronx DA Squad.
According to the Bronx District Attorney Office, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on May 1st, 2025, officers responded to an altercation at 1740 Mulford Avenue, Bronx, New York, the residence of both Daniel Ribustello and his mother Carol Ribustello, age 61. Allegedly during the standoff with officers, Daniel Ribustello had said he was going to kill Carol Ribustello with the knife he was holding up to her. While Daniel Ribustello was still holding the knife up to his mother, a NYPD Officer struck Daniel Ribustello once after discharging his department issued firearm at the defendant. Carol Ribustello remained physically unharmed during the altercation and after Daniel Ribustello was shot.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Daniel Ribustello are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
