On January 21st, 2026, the arrest of Frederick Green, age 20, was announced by Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. Frederick Green was charged with first-degree Assault, second-degree Attempted Murder, and second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The arrest and charges against Frederick Green were a result of an investigation handled by the New York State Police, United States Marshalls, and NYPD Detective John Tuohy of the Midtown South Precinct Detective Squad.
According to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, shortly after midnight on November 16th, 2025, Frederick Green was with a group at Sei Less, a restaurant on West 38th Street in Bronx, New York. At approximately 2:00 a.m. the victim, a 29-year-old man, accompanied by another group sat outside of the Sei Less building when Frederick Green’s group exited and encountered the other men. The two groups ended up in two separate physical altercations when Frederick Green allegedly drew a weapon from his bag and fired two shots in the victim’s direction, hitting him once in the groin and abdomen area. A fragment from the bullet that struck the victim ended up lodging his pulmonary artery after entering his veins and traveling to his lungs, causing lasting damage that he still suffers from today. After fleeing the scene Frederick Green hid at a female acquaintance’s apartment in Buffalo, New York. On December 8th, 2025, NYPD officers located Frederick Green at the apartment and attempted to detain him, however he tried to jump out a window of the building that led to the surrounding units arresting him.
The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Frederick Green are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
