On February 21st, 2025, the arrest of Jailyn Wagner, age 20, was announced by Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. Jailyn Wagner was charged with two counts of first-degree Manslaughter, two counts of second-degree Murder, and four counts of second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The arrest and charges against Jailyn Wagner were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Detective Dominic Robinson of Bronx Homicide and Detective Chad Poidomani of the 48th Precinct.
According to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 2:53 a.m. on July 23rd, 2024, shots fired were reported in the area of the apartment building on 852 176th Street where the victim lived. Allegedly around this time Jailyn Wagner shot his landlord, Idriss Cherif El Farissy, 28 times total and multiple bullets being headshots. The defendant reportedly fled from the scene before local police arrived, using a Citi-Bike to quickly travel to a nearby park where he changed his clothes before returning to his building. 6 days later at approximately 3:00 a.m. on July 29th, 2024, the victim, Roman Martinez Malave, was stationary in his mobile trailer home parked near East 176th Street and Morgan Avenue. Allegedly Jailyn Wagner had shot the victim inside his trailer 39 times in total, then fleeing the scene to a nearby park to change his clothes before walking back home.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Jailyn Wagner are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
