On February 18th, 2025, the arrest of Germaine Parham, age 33, was announced by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg Jr.. Germaine Parham was charged with six counts of first-degree Rape, first-degree Robbery, first-degree Sexual Abuse, first and second-degree Burglary as a Sexually Motivated Felony, and six counts of Predatory Sexual Assault. The arrest and charges against Germaine Parham were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Detective Steven Clarke from the Manhattan Special Victims Squad

According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 11:00 a.m. on January 29th, 2026, Germaine Parham entered one of the buildings belonging to the Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village while allegedly following an unnamed woman who entered before him. After the woman entered an elevator the defendant followed, rode up one floor, then exited the elevator and then the building. Approximately 7 minutes later Germaine Parham entered a second building in the same complex by following the 14-year-old female victim after she unlocked the door she entered through. Allegedly while waiting for the elevator Germaine Parham grabbed the victim and forcibly dragged her to a nearby staircase in addition to taking her cellphone. Once in the stairwell the defendant allegedly banged the victim’s head against the railing before brandishing a knife with threats of killing her unless she obliged to his actions. For an unspecified amount of time Germaine Parham allegedly raped and assaulted the victim until they were interrupted by a bystander that also entered the stairwell. The defendant then fled while still in possession of the victim’s phone which led to his identification and arrest on February 3rd, 2026.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Germaine Parham are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
