Story by Ethan

On June 17th, 2025, the arrest of Angie Cordero Roserio, age 29, was announced by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. Angie Cordero Roserio was charged with three counts of first-degree Assault, second-degree Murder, and fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The arrest and charges against Angie Cordero Roserio were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD Officer Christopher DaSilva of the 103rd Precinct and Detective Tyler Stavis of the 103rd Precinct Detective Squad

According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, on May 23rd, 2025, both Angie Cordero Roserio and the victim were aboard the Q9 MTA bus at approximately 4:50 p.m. headed southwest on Liberty Avenue in Manhattan, New York. The defendant then allegedly got up and approached the victim from the front as he was seated before acting erratically and intentionally stepping on a female bystander’s foot as she stood up to exit the bus as it stopped. The victim asked Angie Cordero Roserio why he had stepped on the woman’s foot before the defendant allegedly took a pen out from his pocket and jammed it into the victim’s neck. Angie Cordero Roserio allegedly then knocked the victim back before taking the pen and stabbing the victim in his right eye while saying “I’ll kill you,”. After the altercation the defendant fled from the bus before being chased by two other passengers, eventually leading to a police officer catching and arresting him. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where it was revealed that a small metal object was stuck behind his eye that required surgery to remove.

The Queens District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Angie Cordero Roserio are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
