On February 26th, 2026, the arrest of Wen-Lone Chou, age 67, was announced by Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnely. The arrest and charges against Wen-Lone Chou were a result of an investigation handled by the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force Illicit Finance Group, Nassau County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, New York City Police Department, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, New York Joint Firearms Task Force – Long Island, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection

According to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, a year-long investigation in collaboration with the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force Illicit Finance Group was conducted into Wen-Lone Chou starting in January 2025. Wen-Lone Chou was identified by authorities as suspicious for being an alleged frequent buyer of firearm parts from various online sellers. These purchases would be delivered to his residence on Marcellus Road in Mineola, New York. The investigation revealed that the defendant purchased approximately 112 items and parts for firearms which included various handgun slides, gun barrels, ammo magazines, and other unspecified pieces. It’s alleged that with these parts Wen-Lone Chou was planning on completing a Sig Sauer P320 in addition to other weapons including Glocks. On February 25th, 2026, search warrant was executed at the defendant’s house on Marcellus Road that recovered: a Sig Sauer 320 9mm ghost gun, seven assault rifles, a revolver, a hunting rifle, 78 high-capacity magazines, thousands of rounds of ammunition for six different calibers, five lower frames for Glock, Sig Sauer, and AR-style firearms, six firearm suppressors and silencers, a rapid-fire modification device known as a “Glock switch”, and components to build an MP5 assault weapon. It was also uncovered that Wen-Lone Chou’s property shares a backyard fence with the Mineola School District soccer field which is in the vicinity of an elementary school and Chaminade High School facilities. Despite this it was observed that the defendant had set up a 25-foot-long makeshift shooting range with plywood targets bearing spent rounds that were lodged into them. Wen-Lone Chou was arrested by the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force Illicit Finance Group on February 25th, 2026.

The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Wen-Lone Chou are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
