According to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 11:07 p.m. on September 3rd, 2025, Bryan Mizhirumbay was driving eastbound on Atlantic Avenue while approaching the intersection with South Long Beach Avenue. At the same time 55-year-old Craig White was driving northbound on South Long Beach Avenue through the intersection with Atlantic Avenue. As Bryan Mizhirumbay was approaching the intersection he was allegedly traveling as fast at 106 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone with the proper signage indicating it. While allegedly speeding the defendant failed to stop for a red light and rammed into the side of Craig White’s vehicle that was crossing the intersection with the right of way. The impact sent both vehicles northeast into the westbound lanes of Atlantic Avenue, the victim’s car crashing through a fence belonging to Atlantic Nursery while the defendant’s vehicle fully stopped on the westbound shoulder of the road before erupting in flames. Craig White was discovered unconscious in his vehicle while trapped between the driver’s seat and the passenger compartment due to the crash. The victim was transported to Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital where he was ultimately pronounced as dead. Bryan Mizhirumbay was transported to Nassau University Medical Center to receive treatment for his injuries and have his blood drawn. Results of the blood draw revealed that the defendant had a blood alcohol concentration of .18% approximately an hour after the crash. The vehicle event data recorder from Bryan Mizhirumbay’s car indicated that he was driving at allegedly 106 miles per hour prior to the crash, and at the moment of impact he was traveling at 90 miles per hour with intermittent braking.
The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Bryan Mizhirumbay are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
