Christopher Santana was charged with second-degree Conspiracy, second-degree Bribery in Official and Political Matters, second-degree Acceptance or Receipt of an Unlawful Benefit by a Public Servant for Official Behavior, and second-degree Official Misconduct. The arrest and charges against Christopher Santana were a result of an investigation handled by the New Jersey General Attorney’s Office

According to the New Jersey General Attorney’s Office, in the evening of June 10th, 2025, Christopher Santana was reporting to work when other law enforcement noticed a protruding bulge under his clothes on his chest. The defendant was subsequently searched and two vacuum-sealed bags underneath his protective vest and on his upper thigh area. These bags contained tobacco and three bottles of an unknown liquid. Further investigation revealed that since May 2024 Christopher Santana had been accepting illicit bribes from associates and inmates at Northern State Prison in exchange for smuggling them contraband.

The New Jersey General Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Christopher Santana are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
