On November 25th, 2025, the arrest of Aaron Walker, age 28, was announced by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg Jr.. Aaron Walker was charged with first-degree Attempted Assault, second-degree Attempted Murder, and second-degree Assault. The arrest and charges against Aaron Walker were a result of an investigation handled by NYPD’s 13th Precinct and the Transit Robbery Squad.
According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 7:30 p.m. on September 23rd, 2025, the officer was walking on the L-train platform at the 3rd Avenue Station near East 14th Street. Aaron Walker approached the victim, unprovoked and without reason, and allegedly punched him in the head. Following the alleged punch the officer attempted to turn around when the defendant allegedly grabbed the victim by his shirt and tossed him onto the tracks as the L-train was approaching the station. An anonymous good samaritan assisted the officer and he was able to climb back onto the L-train platform before the train ran him over. The officer was taken to a local hospital to be treated for head, neck, and arm injuries. Aaron Walker allegedly fled from the scene immediately, running away through the subway tunnels before arriving at the Union Square Station. The defendant allegedly changed his sweatpants, throwing them on the train tracks, before attempting to board the northbound L-train. On duty officers located and arrested Aaron Walker as he was trying to board onto the train car.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Aaron Walker are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
