On February 21st, 2025, the arrests of Francisco A. Serpas, age 47, and Angel W. Serpas, age 37, were announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Francisco A. Serpas and Angel W. Serpas were charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. The arrests and charges of Francisco A. Serpas and Angel W. Serpas were a result of an investigation launched by Chief Matthew Finck of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Chief Michael O’Donnell of the Wood-Ridge Police Department.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on February 13th, 2025, their Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Wood-Ridge Police Department regarding an alleged case of sexual assault on a juvenile. Authorities determined that allegedly Francisco A. Serpas and Angel W. Serpas had sexually assaulted and endangered a child on multiple occasions between January 2021 and December 2022 in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey. Francisco A. Serpas and Angel W. Serpas were located and arrested in Paramus, New Jersey, on February 21st, 2025, and were held in the Bergen County Jail until their first court appearance.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Francisco A. Serpas and Angel W. Serpas are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
