Authorities have arrested Walfredo Simon from East Rutherford in connection with two separate incidents involving a juvenile victim. On May 12, 2025, law enforcement took 20-year-old Walfred Santizo-Simon into custody after receiving reports of inappropriate conduct involving a juvenile.
Earlier that same day, the Rutherford Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office to report a suspected case of child sexual abuse. Investigators from both agencies launched an immediate inquiry, and found that an alleged sexual assault had taken place in Rutherford, on May 12, 2025. During the investigation, detectives also uncovered a previous incident that allegedly occurred in Fairview on February 1, involving the same victim.
As a result of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Investigation, Alfred Santizo-Simon now faces multiple charges, including, two counts of sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. After his arrest in Rutherford, he was booked into the Bergen County Jail, where he is being held until his scheduled for CJP court appearance at the Bergen County Superior Court.
Prosecutor Mark Musella reminded the public that charges alone do not indicate guilt, and that the accused remains innocent unless proven otherwise in a court of law. He also acknowledged the coordinated efforts of the Rutherford Police Department and Fairview Police Department in supporting the investigation.
