Gustavo Sosa of Pennsauken, New Jersey, Indicted for Attempts to Lure and Sexually Assault a Teenage Girl

On February 6th, 2025, the arrest of Gustavo Sosa, age 31, was announced by Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay. Gustavo Sosa was charged with second-degree Attempting to Lure a Child, second-degree Attempted Sexual Assault, second-degree Attempted Prostitution with a Minor, and third-degree Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest and charges against Gustavo Sosa were a result of an investigation handled by [Officers/Detectives]. 

According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, on February 3rd, 2026, Gustavo Sosa began online communication with another individual who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. Unbeknownst to the defendant the online account he was chatting with was run by an undercover detective from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit posing as a teenage girl. Gustavo Sosa made plans through text to meet with the alleged teenager in Pennasauken, New Jersey, planning to pay her in exchange for sexual activities. The next day Gustavo Sosa was located and arrested at the predetermined meeting location by officers from the Cherry Hill Police Department Tactical Response Team and Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. The arrest was posted and shared on social media under false pretenses of the defendant being detailed by members of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). However, the arrest of Gustavo Sosa has no correlation or association with ICE or any of its agents.


The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Gustavo Sosa are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
