Irene Frazier of Paterson, New Jersey, Charged for Custody Interference and Being in Contempt of a Court Order

On June 16th, 2025, the arrest of Irene Frazier, age 19, was announced by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes. Irene Frazier was charged with fourth-degree Contempt of a Court Order and three counts of Interference with Custody. The arrest and charges against Irene Frazier were a result of an investigation handled by the Paterson Police Department

According to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, at approximately 1:18 p.m. on June 13th, 2025, a report was submitted to the Paterson Police Department about three missing children that were allegedly taken by their mother in violation of a court order. All three children were located unharmed at approximately 11:34 p.m. around Sandy Court and Christopher Columbus Drive in Paterson, New Jersey. Irene Frazier was subsequently located and arrested without incident at approximately 11:49 p.m. in the same area as the children. The three children, ages 2, 7, and 10, were placed in the custody of the Division of Child Protection and Permanency


The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Irene Frazier are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
