On April 25th, 2025, the arrest of Jordan Rosen, age 42, was announced by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. Jordan Rosen was charged with two counts of second-degree Murder, fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Reckless Driving, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Tinted Window. The arrest and charges against Jordan Rosen were a result of an investigation handled by Detective Christopher Paul and Sergeant Robert Denig of the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 9:21 a.m. on April 5th, 2025, Jordan Rosen was traveling on the eastbound exit ramp of the Long Island Expressway while operating a 2024 BMW iX SUV. At the same time the victim, 55-year-old William McField was riding a 2023 KTM motorcycle on the same expressway when both his and the defendant’s vehicles collided. Following the collision William McField sped past Jordan Rosen and drove through a red light and traffic heading southbound on Woodhaven Boulevard. The defendant then pursued after the victim, running the same red light while driving through traffic. The chase continued onto the left side of the road in a lane not meant for traffic, which was indicated with zebra stripes. Jordan Rosen then accelerated and hit William McField’s motorcycle from behind which caused the bike to lodge itself under the BMW after the victim was run over. Jordan Rosen continued to drive southbound on Woodhaven Boulevard when he struck another individual driving a Mazda CX-5 in the center lane of the road. Shortly after the crash the motorcycle stuck underneath the BMW caught on fire before the vehicle came to a rest against a nearby lamp post in the middle of the roadway. Responding officers pronounced William McField dead at the scene due to severe body trauma.
The Queens District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Jordan Rosen are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
