Jersey City Woman Charged with Murder after October Stabbing Victim Dies
By: Moe M.
On October 20, 2017, law enforcement were notified of a man stabbed in the chest and was bleeding in an apartment at the address of 191 Academy Street, Jersey City, New Jersey. When the police officers arrived at the apartment, they found the man bleeding in the apartment from a stab wound. The victim’s name was Carl Salisbury, a fifty-seven (57) year old male and a resident of Jersey City.

Mr. Salisbury was taken care of by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) that arrived on scene and was quickly transported to the Jersey City Medical Center to treat the stab wound he suffered. Unfortunately, Mr. Salisbury did not survive the attack and was pronounced dead at the hospital on November 4, 2017.

On October 30, 2017, Jersey City Police Department investigated the situation and found that a woman named Lateefa Rabb, a thirty-four (34) year old resident of Jersey City, committed the crime. Rabb was initially charged with Second-Degree Aggravated Assault, Third-Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Fourth-Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

However, as Mr. Carl Salisbury died as a result of the injuries he sustained, the charges against Rabb have been upgraded to First Degree Murder. Since her arrest on October 30th, Rabb has been held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny, New Jersey.

All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
