Lyndhurst, NJ resident Cawley Hawkins charged with possession & distribution of child pornography.

Cawley Hawkins was arrested and charged with possession and distribution of child pornography. The investigation into the case was conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. On February 11, 2020, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit implemented a search warrant at the home of Cawley Hawkins during an ongoing child pornography investigation. The investigation into the case revealed that Hawkins viewed and downloaded approximately 223 digital files displaying sexually explicit images of underage children.

Cawley Hawkins also shared approximately 52 files online. Hawkins was arrested on February 11, 2020 and charged with one count of Distribution of Child Pornography, in an amount greater than 25 files, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(B)5(A)I, a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Possession Of Child Pornography in an amount greater than 100 files, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(B)5(B)iii, a 3rd degree crime.

Hawkins was transported to Bergen County Jail to await his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ. The charges are accusations and the defendant will remain innocent until proven guilty. The Bergen County prosecutor’s office is under the supervision of Chief Robert Anzilotti. The prosecution into the case will be led by Mark Musella.
