Story by Ethan

On September 9th, 2025, the arrest of Rasheen Gaither, age 51, was announced by Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey. Rasheen Gaither was charged with two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, two counts of second-degree Sexual Assault, and one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest and charges against Rasheen Gaither were a result of an investigation handled by Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Trenton Police Department

According to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, several reports during prior months were filed against Rasheen Gaither to the Mercer County Police Department. The reports made claims that Rasheen Gaither had sexually assaulted two female minors both under the age of 13, one within his own home and another at an illegal dispensary he operates in Trenton, New Jersey. On September 5th, 2025, MCPO Detective Michael Staton and Trenton Police Detective Vishan Singh initiated an investigation into Rasheen Gaither’s activities. Probable cause led to police executing a court-authorized search warrant at the defendant’s owned convenience store “Bagged U” on the 100 block of Pennington Avenue in Trenton, New Jersey. After Rasheen Gaither was located and detained, officers recovered four pounds of marijuana and a handgun.

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Rasheen Gaither are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
