Safet Cajevic of Ceder Street, Garfield Arrested on Drug Charges

GARFIELD, N.J. (May 2, 2017) — Safet Cajevic of 114 Cedar St. has been arrested and charged with three crimes related to possession and distribution of cocaine.

The arrest followed a tip the prosecutor’s office received that indicated Cajevic was distributing drugs in and around Garfield. As a result of the tip, an investigation was initiated between the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Bergen County sheriff, and the Garfield Police Department. The narcotics task force, regional SWAT team, sheriff’s office and Garfield police executed a search warrant at Cajevic’s Cedar Street home April 28 where cocaine and drug paraphernalia used for cocaine distribution were seized, and he was arrested.

Cajevic, 55, is charged with third degree possession of cocaine, less than one-half ounce; fourth degree possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia, and fourth degree purposely preventing or attempting to prevent a public servant from lawfully performing an official function by means of force violence and physical interference.

Cajevic, who is married and unemployed, is scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court for a first appearance on May 24 at 8:30 a.m.

All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
