A search warrant was executed on Massey’s home on November 20, 2018, and a safe was cracked open the next day pursuant to a second search warrant. Two firearms, a .38 special revolver, and a 40 caliber semi-automatic pistol were found inside the safe.

One year later, Massey was found guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of two firearms. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office filed for an extended term motion and in the first-degree range because of Masset’s criminal history.

Massey was sentenced to 18 years with 9 years parole ineligibility on count one and concurrently 10 years with a five year period of parole ineligibility.
