On the morning of November 17, 2022, the Fair Lawn Police Department responded to a report of a home invasion. The perpetrators posed as NYPD officers and proceeded to tie up the homeowner and steal cash and jewelry after being invited inside.

An investigation led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Fair Lawn Police Department revealed Michael D’Angelo, Daniel Ruggiero, Dominick Memoli, Bruno Simonetti, Erion Beshiri, and Sian Stafford to be suspects. On May 22, 2023, all six individuals were arrested. 

D’Angelo and Ruggiero were charged with first-degree Kidnapping, first-degree Robbery, second-degree Armed Burglary, second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, third-degree Theft by Unlawful Taking, third-degree Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, fourth-degree Aggravated Assault, and fourth-degree Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer. Memoli, Simonetti, Beshiri, and Stafford were all charged with second-degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. 

All charges are merely accusations, all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
