According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on December 6th, 2025, an ongoing disturbance in the area of The Park Steakhouse in Park Ridge, New Jersey, was responded to by officers from the Park Ridge Police Department. Responding officers located the victim on arrival, an adult male suffering from a head injury, and he was transported by EMS to a local hospital where he remained while being treated for several days. Following the incident an investigation was initiated by the Park Ridge Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigation Unit. This led to the identification of Nicholas K. Dispoto, an officer from the Montvale Police Department, was involved in the physical altercation with the victim while off-duty. The investigation revealed that Nicholas K. Dispoto had hid inside of The Park Steakhouse building while the responding officers and EMS were at the scene. In addition to the initial information it was uncovered that Jason R. Vradenburg, an officer from the Park Ridge Police Department, Martina L. McGee, and Thomas M. Schiavone, all provided false statements and information in an attempt to conceal Nicholas K. Dispoto’s whereabouts.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Nicholas K. Dispoto, Jason R. Vradenburg, Martina L. McGee, and Thomas M. Schiavone are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
