Tyquan Manassa of Manhattan, New York, Charged for an Unprovoked Assault on Subway Passengers

On November 22nd, 2025, the arrest of Tyquan Manassa, age 27, was announced by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. Tyquan Manassa was charged with four counts of first-degree Assault, four counts of second-degree Assault, and fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The arrest and charges against Tyquan Manassa were a result of an investigation handled by the District Attorney’s Career Criminal Major Crimes Bureau

According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 3:10 p.m. on November 19th, 2025, Tyquan Manassa approached the first victim on the E&F train platform at the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens Subway Station. Allegedly Tyquan Manassa began to strike the victim several times while holding a sharp object, creating multiple cuts and a laceration to their forehead and ear. Following the first victim, Tyquan Manassa allegedly walked away and slapped another bystander nearby. Following the slap Tyquan Manassa had allegedly gone to a third victim nearby and struck them in the face with a knife, inflicting a deep cut to his eyebrow before the assailant fled from the subway station entirely. The first victim received 16 stitches, while the third victim had gotten several stitches as well.


The Queens District Attorney’s Office stated that the charges against Tyquan Manassa are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
