Marcus N. Marson of Leonia, New Jersey, Arrested for Attempted Murder During Carjacking Incident

On January 28th, 2025, the arrest of Marcus N. Marson, age 25, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Marcus N. Marson was charged with first-degree Attempted Murder, first-degree Attempted Carjacking, third-degree Aggravated Assault, third-degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, fourth-degree Possession of a Weapon, and fourth-degree Resisting Arrest.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, a stabbing was reported on Duncan Avenue, Fort Lee, at approximately 9:17 a.m., on January 28th, 2025. Officers from the Fort Lee Police Department responded to find a 37-year old male victim suffering from several severe stab wounds, and the assailant having fled from the scene. The victim was swiftly transported to the Hackensack University Medical Center to be treated for his wounds, and he remains there in a stable condition. The victim is struggling with multiple lacerations to this head, as well as puncture wounds to his arm and shoulder. After recovery from emergency care, the victim was able to identify Marcus N. Marson as the attacker, and Fort Lee Police soon located and apprehended the assailant in the backyard of an unrelated private property. An investigation uncovered that the victim was an Uber driver, transporting Marcus N. Marson on the morning of January 28th, 2025. Allegedly Marcus N. Marson assaulted and stabbed the victim while demanding multiple times to take custody of the vehicle. 

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Marcus N. Marson are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
