Luke Ferrante of Spring Lake, New Jersey, Charged with Causing Bodily Injury by Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash

On June 4th, 2025, the arrest of Luke Ferrante, age 47, was announced by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Luke Ferrante was charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The arrest and charges against Luke Ferrante were a result of an investigation launched by [Officers/Detectives]. 

According to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, at approximately 12:15 p.m. on June 3rd, 2025, an incident of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle was reported around the intersection of South New Prospect Road and Citadel Drive in Spring Lake, New Jersey. Responding personnel located the 16-year old male victim lying in the road with serious head injuries and swiftly transported them to the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey where he was listed to be in stable condition. Officers received another call identifying a Nissan Altima at the scene with the driver slumped over the wheel as they had driven onto the sidewalk and hit the victim before fleeing the scene. A joint investigation uncovered the Nissan Altima with serious damage to the front end, as well as identified the driver to be Luke Ferrante. Luke Ferrante was located and arrested without incident, during which he was searched and found to have had drug paraphernalia on him. A court-authorized warrant was issued for a blood draw of Luke Ferrante at the Monmouth Medical Center-Southern Campus, with the results still pending at this time.  


The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Luke Ferrante are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
